Welcome to UGA's annual Cook's Holiday Christmas buffet.
My shop discovered UGA's annual "Cook's Holiday" in 2013, and has been a regular customer ever since. This year's feast was our 6th.
For the past three years, the Cook's Holiday has been held at the new Bolton Dining Commons. But thanks to ongoing construction in that area, the decision was made to move the event back to the Village Summit at Joe Frank Harris Commons for 2018.

We arrived right before the lunch buffet began.
We arrived and got in line with the rest of the General Admission patrons.
Everyone, that is, except Brent.
Brent was waiting for Cyndi to arrive.

We waited at the top of the stairs until they could get our party of 20 seated together.
In the meantime, everyone took the opportunity to take pics in front of the Christmas decorations.
And there were A LOT of Christmas decorations !
We waited in line until they could accommodate our party of 20.
Once they found room for us, we headed to our table. The great thing about this seating arrangement was that they put us very close to the buffet entrance.
This year, we were all seated together in one long table.
We had some new faces joining us this year in the form of Sara, Bruce, and Julio from NAPA.
Being seated all together gave Brent the opportunity to say a few opening words this year, something he hasn't been able to do at Bolton due to the seating configuration.
I wanted our group to arrive as the event began in hopes of beating the crowd, and that strategy seemed to work.

Just like in previous years, the Village Summit was dressed for the occasion.
Live music was also featured this year.
The great thing about the setup at the Village Summit is that the buffet is in a separate room with a specific entrance and exit.
This allows traffic to not only flow much smoother through the buffet, but also away from the seating area.
The salad bar was located on the way to the entrance to the buffet.

Our group wasted little time in attacking the buffet.
Two separate identical buffets helped traffic flow smoothly. For some unknown reason, Wendel looks like he is staring out into space.

The goal for this year's feast was the same as it is every year: Stuff yourself sufficiently so you are unable to be productive in any way when you return to work.
I'm happy to report that everyone put forth his/her best effort in reaching that goal.

Seating was a little tight, but it worked.
Another benefit of being seated where we were was our proximity to the dessert tables.
This was something we took full advantage of.
Everyone enjoyed themselves.
I wasn't the only person taking pictures this year.
Felicia was trying to get a picture of Brent and Cyndi.
Smile for pictures !
I didn't have the best seating location to get a good picture of Brent and Cyndi. But I was able to get a good picture of a picture of Brent and Cyndi.
That's better.
Another wonderful Holiday buffet ! Here's looking forward to next year.
