A/C issues are a common repair in my shop. On this day, this old Chevy van arrived with an "a/c not cooling" concern.
This van has aftermarket a/c, meaning an a/c kit was installed at some point in this van's life. Normally we don't do anything with these systems. But I did some digging and found that one of the lines was leaking.
Since I'm dealing with something that is not a factory installation, I have no service information. So I always take pictures to make sure I know where everything goes. This makes putting stuff back together much easier.
The line in question attaches to the a/c compressor.
From the a/c compressor, the line then attaches to the condenser in the front of the van.
Since this is an aftermarket system, the old line had to be removed and taken to a local shop that makes new lines.
The new line than then be installed which, in this case, solved the problem.
