  • Ford F-Series pickups through 1996 utilize a twin I-beam suspension with a radius arm on each side. Each arm fits into a bracket and held in place with a multi-piece bushing kit. I've seen these bushings wear out after many years and/or miles in the past. But this was the first time I had ever encountered a cracked radius arm bracket.

  • The bracket was cracked and split all the way across one side.

  • Looking at the back of the bracket, I noticed it was also cracked partially across the other side. That means the only thing holding this radius arm and bushing in place was a half-inch-wide piece of metal. This is quite dangerous and required a replacement bracket and bushing kit.
