This Vet-Med van had been an ongoing project in the shop for a while, but not in terms of being repaired. It was being converted for a specific purpose, and the instructor in charge of the project had specific needs to be addressed.
The department wanted buckets seats installed in the second row.
I bolted one seat in place as a mockup to see if this is what the department was looking for.
Installation of a large vet box in the cargo area of the van had been completed earlier. The only thing left for that step was the installation of a full-width headrest on the back of the box to protect those sitting in the third row seat.
The department also had requested a rack be installed on the front of the van that would hold a piece of equipment.
Larry and I headed to Vet-Med to get the dimensions of the cart to see what we could come up with.
I'm not sure what this piece of equipment is. But I know it had something to do with large-animal veterinarian services that would be conducted in the field.
So this cart had to go with the van wherever it went.
The solution ended up being the installation of a trailer hitch with a ramp on the front of the van.
We measured the cart and eventually found a hitch-mounted rack that would hold it.
