This older Ford F150 was towed in for an overheating concern.
The driver reported that he had begun to hear a whistling noise while driving.
The whistling noise was then followed by a loud "boom."
This was followed by lots of steam and liquid hitting the ground.
The upper radiator hose clamp seen in the photos is a factory OEM clamp, meaning this was the original radiator. After 20 years, it finally gave up.
I've seen radiators crack before. But this is the first time I've seen the whole side of a tank blown apart.
