  • Being a car nut, I always kept, and still do keep an eye on the local car dealerships to see if anything interesting shows up in someone's inventory.  Working at a car dealership makes this much easier to do.  Once in a while, something unusual will appear out of nowhere.  Such was the case on this day in 2004.

  • This very nice 1967 Ford Galaxie Convertible was traded in at Joe Machens Ford on November 29, 2004.

  • While not a concours restoration, this car was quite nice !  the exterior paint and chrome were all in great shape.

  • The one exterior flaw I could find was with the convertible top.  The duct tape holding a corner of the top together is visible in the photo above.

  • The best part of this story centers around the car's price.  It's been too many years for me to recall the exact details.  But my memory is that I was told that I could have had this car for something like $1,500 - $2,000 !

  • Regardless, as the old saying of, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" suggests, I never had a chance at this car.  The finance manager who worked the deal bought it instantly and the car never made it to the used car inventory.
