Read MoreThe Plymouth Barracuda had a head start in the emerging "Pony Car" market when it arrived in dealer's showrooms two weeks before the Ford Mustang. But it didn't matter, as the Mustang outsold the Barracuda by more than 5 to 1 in its first year. By 1967, the gap was more than 7 to 1 in favor of the Mustang. That makes this car quite rare. A total of 4,228 convertibles were produced that year.
Back in the day, one of the many gifts given to Playboy magazine's "Playmate of the Year" was a pink car. For 1964 and 1969, that car was a Ford Mustang. Because of this, the first generation Mustang became available in some shade of pink via special order. While often referred to as "Playboy Pink" and "Playmate Pink," it doesn't appear that those were the official Ford names. Various shades of pink were available via special order for the first generation Mustang, including "Passionate Pink," "Hot Pink," and "Dusk Rose."
The 1980 - 82 C3 Corvette is my favorite from a styling standpoint. This 1982 represented he first year for the infamous "Crossfire" fuel injection. While the 200 hp produced by the 5.7L V8 doesn't seem like much compared to the past, this was an increase in power over the previous years, the first in quite some time.
