April 6: Hornets Nest Region AACA show . . .
Read MoreThe Allante's Pininfarina body was beautiful to look at. But that wasn't enough to overcome its expensive price tag, (almost $62k in 1993 !). So it makes sense that the Allante was never a big seller. Cadillac produced 4,670 in 1993 making this car somewhat rare. The funny thing is that 1993, which was the final year of production, was the model's most popular year.
1993 Ford Econoline Van.
Here is the perfect example of what I mentioned earlier. Even though the math says it is, this is not an "antique" vehicle in my mind. I work on a fleet of these vans on a daily basis. They're well built and dependable. But I just can't see them as "antique" or "collectible."
But that's the great thing about the AACA. If you have a motorized vehicle in original condition that is 25 years old or older, there is a class for you.It took a while for the Pontiac Trans Am to catch on with the car buying public. A total of 12,097 Trans Ams were produced over the car's first five model years, (1969 - 73). But thanks in part to Pontiac's styling department, sales started to take off in 1974 where 10,255 Trans Ams were produced just that year. That number almost tripled for 1975, (27,274 produced), and almost doubled again for 1976, (46,701 produced).
