My friend Heather and I were on our way to Harrah's in Cherokee, North Carolina to enjoy the wonderful buffet and stopped at the Tallulah Point Overlook.
The Tallulah Point Overlook is a roadside gift shop and snack shop that offers a wonderful view of the Tallulah Gorge.
Tallulah Point Overlook is located on what I'm guessing is the old US Route 441, a short diversion from the current Route 441 bypass.
Some kind of gorge overlook has existed here since 1919. The current owners have operated since 1994.
Information about the Tallulah Gorge.
The view from the overlook is pretty amazing.

The State Park is full of walking trails and overlooks for the gorge and waterfalls. A number of park visitors can be seen in the photo above.
I believe the rock face seen on the right side of the photo above is known as the Vandiver Cascade.

Water can be seen in the photos above and below flowing over the rocks.
Apparently, this looks like another waterfall after a heavy rain.
We headed onward to Harrah's and had a great buffet dinner. On our way back to Athens, I stopped in Franklin, North Carolina to snap a few pics of the sunset over the mountains.
I don't know the names of any of the peaks in these photos. But I see the name Wayah Bald mentioned as being in that general direction.

At this point, the background color becomes completely yellow.

I managed to capture an aircraft of some kind on the top right corner of the photo above.
