  • Marshes of Glynn Overlook Park sits just before the US Route 17 intersection with the F. J. Torras Causeway that leads to St. Simons Island.  This is another attraction that I have driven past before, but never stopped.  I decided to pull in and check it out today.

  • Poet Sidney Lanier immortalized the beauty of this area in his poem, The Marshes of Glynn.  Lanier was inspired to write the poem in 1878 while gazing into the coastal marshlands from what is now the Marshes of Glynn Overlook Park along present day US Route 17 in Brunswick, Georgia.

  • Georgians take advantage of their fishing piers quite a bit as several people were fishing when I stopped.  But I was there for the view, which was wonderful.
