  • I couldn't find a name for the peak shown in the photos above and below.  But the topographic map indicated it was around 5,700 feet.

  • This region is, quite literally, at the base of the Rocky Mountains.  The point where the "mountains" end and these "foothills" begin is very clear on a map.  I know nothing about the geology of the rock formations.  But they were cool to look at from a distance.  There was another peak next to that one.

  • This was great !  The drive reminded me of what it was like driving back from Salzburg through the Austrian Alps with my ex-in-laws.  The plan now was to go back into Loveland and head north on I-25 to Fort Collins to check out the Anheuser-Busch Visitor's Center.
