The possibility of a getting a flat tire is part of the bike riding game. To this point, I had been pretty fortunate. But not today.
I was on my way to work coasting down the big hill on College Station Road and had to stop for the signal light at Research Drive. When the light turned green, something wasn't right. It didn't take me very long to figure it out.
Somehow, I picked up a very large screw in my rear tire that punctured the tube and tire in two places. This incident was the motivation for me to keep spare inner tubes both on the bike and in my toolbox.
