The Georgia Guidestones is a granite monument outside of Elberton, Georgia that was built in 1980. The Elberton Granite Finishing Company built the monument in 1980. The name R. C. Christian was used by the person or persons who commissioned it. But nobody seems to know who this actually is/was. Ten messages or "Guides" are inscribed on the vertical slabs of granite.

The Guidestones consists of 4 large vertical slabs of granite each inscribed with the "Guides" in a different language on each available side, for a total of 8 languages. The origin of the "Guides" is unknown. But conspiracy theories abound.

This stone lists the physical characteristics of the monument. Overall height is just over 19 feet. Total weight is just under 119 tons. A time capsule is buried under this stone.

The vertical slabs are written in 8 modern languages - English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and Russian.

The top horizontal slab is written in 4 ancient languages - Babylonian, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, and Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.
