I spent the Christmas holiday in the north Georgia mountains visiting friends.
This cabin is situated in the mountains outside of Cherry Log, Georgia.
If I read the topographic map correctly, it looks like this cabin sits around 2,200 feet.
This was a beautiful place ! If I had to guess based on the surroundings, I would say that this cabin is primarily a rental. There are a lot of similar cabins in this area.
Christmas in the north Georgia mountains.
The front of the cabin features a nice seating area.
There are chairs and a hot tub on the side patio.
Side patio with a hot tub.
There's also a picnic table in the yard. It looks like the property owner had to do some work to make everything level.
Visitors could climb up to the hammock if so motivated. And it was warm enough during this Christmas holiday that this was actually feasible.
Good advice.
One of the primary selling points of this cabin is its view. Danita and I arrived just as the sun was setting, and were treated to a wonderful sunset.
I grabbed the camera and started shooting.
The photos above and below were taken on the driveway side of the cabin.
I managed to get a few good shots through the trees.
Great colors in the sky.
I moved to the patio side of the cabin where I had a less obstructed view.
The sunsets are beautiful up here !
There was enough of a gap between the trees to allow me to get a few good shots.
According to the map, this side patio faces almost directly west.
I moved further out into the side yard.
A Christmas Eve sunset.
I don't know what the star in the center of the photo above is other than very bright.
Enough picture-taking, time to eat.
Temperatures were still in the upper 60s when we arrived. So it was decided that dinner would be served outside.
This was the perfect start to the Christmas holiday.
