  • The pink blooms are beginning to fade on the first azalea cluster.  But the white half still looks great.

  • The second azalea is now blooming.  Unlike the others, this one blooms in a dark red color.

  • I had a conversation with my neighbor about these berry-producing bushes.  She called them, "Heavenly Bamboo," which I've never heard of.

  • A quick Google search for Heavenly Bamboo told me that these are nandina bushes.  Like the spotted laurels just out of view to the left in the photo above, nandinas are practically indestructible.  My neighbor told me that I can run them over with the mower and they will grow back.  With that kind of reputation, it's no surprise that nandinas are considered invasive in Georgia, which explains why I see them everywhere.  I've got them all over the yard.
