Another weekend means another walk around the yard to see what's happening. The Japanese Maple tree continues to turn green, and is now starting to blend in with its surroundings.

Not long after my then-wife and I moved to Athens, she came home from work with a plant. If I remember right, the plant seen in the photo above was in sad shape and was going to be thrown out. She brought it home to see if we could save it.

More than a decade later, the Thanksgiving Cactus is still alive and resides in my dining room. It has, however, seemed to be on a steady decline over the last few years. I thought it would be a good idea to bring it outside for the summer where the sun could work its magic. Hopefully, the squirrels will leave it alone.

The Mood Ring Podocarpus is still green which is a good sign.

I spotted a small bloom on the Woodlanders Hardy Bottlebrush. Over the winter, a large branch fell from a tree and took out a chunk of it, which made me wonder how it would do this year. This is a good sign.

All of the Red Fountain grass plants are doing well.

The mystery bulbs are still growing, and are still a mystery.

The transplanted Mexican Pony Tails Feather grass plants look quite green and healthy.

I'm seeing a few blooms in waiting on the Happy Returns Daylilies around the maple tree.

The Goldmound Spireas are still blooming and look great.

Maybe the Coronation Gold Yarrows will recover this year.

So far, so good for the Husker Red Beardtongues. They are all blooming, albeit some more than others.

After seeing a few flowers on the Bridal Wreath Spirea, I am now seeing some new growth. Maybe cutting the dead branches out of it was beneficial.

After I moved a few of the Yellow Flag Irises away from the camellia cluster last weekend, it became clear that I really need to move more of them. The camellias have grown quite a bit and have encroached on the nearby irises. I decided to move a bunch of them in an effort to give the camellias more space.

I broke out the shovel and wheelbarrow and started digging.

I moved everything that was immediately next to the camellias.

Before long, I had a good amount of space between the two.

Now everyone should have enough room.

Since I was in a moving mood, I headed over to the gifted Windmill Palm tree where the irises are getting a bit too close.

I guess this means the Windmill Palm tree has grown since I planted it, which is good. I removed the immediate irises to give the palm tree more space. The irises I couldn't relocate were given to neighbors who wanted some for their yards.

Hopefully, everyone will be happier with the additional room.
