Time to check out what has happened in the yard during this past week.

I arrived home from work one day and noticed that the Thanksgiving cactus flower pot was missing. I don't know exactly what happened. But the pot fell off of the wall into the grass area behind the large crape myrtle, which caused it to break. I grabbed an empty coffee container, which I don't know why I have because I don't drink coffee, and scooped the cactus off of the ground. Hopefully, it will be ok until I get a new flower pot for it.

The Mood Ring Podocarpus is doing fine.

So are the Red Fountain grass plants.

Everyone seems to be happy.

I see the yearly Joro spider invasion has begun. Soon, these gals and their giant webs will be everywhere.

All of last year's transplanted Monkey grass is also doing well.

It looks like I'm not going to find out what the mystery bulbs are this year. But that's ok. They're green and growing, which is fine by me.

The transplanted Mexican Pony Tails Feather grass is feathering on this side of the yard as well.

The big news for today is that I've got more crape myrtles blooming.

The Purple Magic crape myrtle continues to look great, like it does every year.

Today, I spotted a bloom on the Plum Magic crape myrtle, even though my camera refused to focus on it.

I don't remember seeing a Plum Magic bloom last year. So this is great !

I then turned around to check out the large crape myrtle next to the garage.

This tree was here long before me, and has done its thing every year since I've been here.

This year's crop of flowers, however, looks much more intense than in years past.

I don't know why this is, or even if that statement is true. Regardless, it looks great !

This is one of the larger crape myrtles I've seen.

Everything looks quite nice this year.

It looks like the Gladioli may be finished for the season. I bought some fishing line to tie the cluster together in an attempt to keep everyone upright. Not sure if this was a good idea or not.

The transplanted Mexican Pony Tails Feather grass is still feathering next to the dogwood tree.

It looks like removing all of the dead branches from the Bridal Wreath Spirea earlier this year may have been a good idea. I see a lot of new growth, which is a good sign.

All is well with the freshly trimmed driveway azaleas.
