The gardenia next to the garage looks great ! It seems to be leaning out into the yard, which is good. And now that I've cut it away from the house, I'm going to let it grow and see what it does.
The Frostproof Gardenia looks great as well. The white blooms don't stay white for very long. But they look good even for a short time.
The Joe Pye Weed seems to be doing ok.
The Goldmound Spireas all seem to be doing very well. I started off with 5 plants in 2015, but lost one thanks to an encounter with a fire ant mound. The remaining plants continue to grow and flower very well.
I've got a few blooms on the Coronation Gold Yarrows this year. They haven't done very well for a couple of years which may be because of having all of the Yellow Flag Irises so close. Now that I've cleared out from in front of the yarrows, they seem to be happier.
The gladiolus flowers look good, all things considered. A recent storm broke a couple of the stalks off.
What remains seems to be happy.
I'm seeing a few flowers on the gardenia in the backyard as well. My guess is that this gardenia, that was also in place when I moved in, is the same variety as that in the front yard.
