    I noticed something interesting as I was leaving for work today.

  • It looks like my Leaning Tower of Pine Tree broke overnight.

  • The Leaning Tower of Pine Tree got its nickname many years ago for obvious reasons.  I didn't worry about it after making this discovery because the never did anything but lean and wasn't leaning toward anything that could be hurt if it fell.  Then in  February 2020, an overnight storm broke the top of the tree off.  All indications at that time pointed to the tree being dead, and today, I have my confirmation.

  • The good news is that it broke off in such a way that it never hit my neighbor's fence.

  • The photo above shows where the tree broke.  It looks like I've got some work to do removing the fallen branches from my neighbor's yard.  I'll worry about cutting the remaining 15 feet of the tree later.
