  • June 14, 2003:  I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the moving van.  We haven't seen our stuff since Monday.

  • The size of the truck and the sharpness of the turns in the neighborhood meant the driver felt he was better off backing up the hill to our house.

  • Our stuff made it.  Now it was time to get it unloaded.

  • The moving crew began the long process of moving boxes into the house where either my wife or I would direct according to what was written on the outside of the box.  The boxes seen in the photo above were destined for the kitchen.

  • As a Ford technician, I had access to a lot of sturdy boxes.  I brought home Rotella oil boxes whenever I could.  The boxes labeled "VC-4-A" originally held gallons of Motorcraft engine coolant.

  • June 16:  My wife continued the unpacking process as I headed to work at my new job on this Monday morning.  The living room began to look like an actual living room.
